Refined Paraffinic Waxes
Also known as "macrocrystalline paraffin waxes" consist of predominantly linear chain aliphatic hydrocarbons (n-paraffins), obtained by dewaxing lubricating oils, are subjected to strict refining processes including the passage with catalytic hydrogenation, which allows the elimination of aromatic solvents and sulfur residues. They are liquid products at temperatures typically between 48and 65 Celsius (118-149 Fahrenheit) , dry and odourless, complying with the main standards for purity requirements for food contact materials; they have an oil content (MOSH type) residual <0.5% by weight.
Applications: formulations for candles, adhesives, agriculture, inks and paints, flexible packaging, rubber, wood, abrasive pastes, topicide baits, cosmetics.
