Waxes play a fundamental role in food. For example, they are used to coat specific types of cheese, providing a surface protection that preserves their quality. 
Waxes are a key ingredient in making the gum base, an essential component in making chewing gum.
The base of chewing gum is a combination of elastomers, resins and food waxes to which other materials are added to achieve the desired consistency. We use hard, high-melting waxes, such as microcrystalline waxes to ensure optimal performance in this application. The versatility of our waxes also extends to use on citrus fruits and other fruits, improving moisture retention, extending durability and freshness and giving a touch of shine.
